The Dryden Public Library is looking for community support for their Dolly Parton Imagination Library program.
“This is an amazing program that sends a book once a month to children under five who are registered for it in Dryden, so we’re asking the community to help children fall in love with reading,” says Chief Executive Officer of the DPL Caroline Goulding.
So far, 30 percent of children under the age of five that live in Dryden are already signed up.
“It really gets children excited to read,” adds Goulding. “Kids don’t get a lot of mail so when you get something in the mail that has your name on it, it’s a book that’s just yours, it’s a really exciting and rewarding experience.”
It costs about 40 dollars to cover one child’s participation for a year.
You can donate or sign up in person or online at the Dryden Dolly Parton Imagination Library page.
