The Kenora District Services Board is strengthening its Northwest Emergency Medical Services.
“Due to an increase in call volume in the Dryden region, we are planning on adding another paramedic crew in Dryden,” says Henry Wall, Chief Administrative Officer of the Kenora District Services Board. “The plan is ultimately for the crew to transition over to Vermilion Bay.”
Wall continues,”We just knew and seeing the current trends, we needed to speed up our plan to add additional paramedics into our service.”
Wall says they will be working with the Municipality of Machin to build a new EMS station in the community.
“This will help us serve the Trans Canada better but also to ensure that when emergency vehicles are needed they’re closer.”
The KDSB is also planning on developing and implementing a Community Paramedicine Program District-wide.
