A snowmobile collision near the Ontario-Manitoba boundary has claimed the life of a southern Manitoba woman.
The crash occurred Saturday afternoon on Bird Lake in Nopiming Provincial Park.
Lac du Bonnet RCMP say two groups of snowmobilers were travelling on a groomed trail, when one group, with a man and a woman on separate machines, went off the trail in an attempt to pass.
A 49-year-old from La Salle lost control, ending up back on the trail, striking the snowmobile belonging to the other group.
She was pronounced dead at the scene and police are still investigating.
