Cost-of-living, burnout, and COVID restrictions are creating a perfect storm for Canadians and causing them to lose sleep.
A new national survey finds that half of Canadians are now more stressed than during the initial lockdowns at the onset of the pandemic, largely due to growing uncertainties and financial hardships.
Eighty-four per cent of respondents said they are worried about cost-of-living and inflation.
Seven-in-10 Canadians are worried about their physical and mental health.
Two thirds are stressed and frustrated by COVID restrictions.
The survey also looked at how several possible economic situations would impact Canadians in 2022.
Forty-nine per cent would be most affected by the planned rise in payroll taxes, while 44% are worried about repayment of debt.
Thirty-seven per cent believe they will be impacted by rising rent.
