Another spike in COVID cases in the Northwestern Health Unit catchment area.
There were 49 new positives reported today, up seven from Tuesday.
Thirty came from the Kenora area.
Fort Frances recorded 13, Emo 3, Atikokan 2 and Sioux Lookout region 1.
Four people also remain hospitalized for COVID-19.
There are now 438 active cases in the region.
The Kenora area continues to lead the region in terms of active cases with 185, followed by the Sioux Lookout area with 165.
Dryden and Fort Frances have 26 cases each and there are 22 in Red Lake.
The Thunder Bay district saw 58 new cases with an active count of 276.
In Ontario as a whole, there are 11,582 new cases, and 2,081 people have been hospitalized because of COVID-19.
288 are in ICU beds.
