Antonia Superina
January 30, 1940 – January 1, 2022
It is with heavy hearts, that we announce the passing of our precious mother, Antonia (Toni) Superina on January 1, 2022 at Princess Court in Dryden, Ontario.
Mom was born in Sezze, Latina, Italy on January 30, 1940. She never missed an opportunity to be with her family and friends. Her life partner Lloyd and her shared many wonderful memories together at their home in Kenora, ON. They especially loved fishing together as Mom always seemed to catch the first fish. They also enjoyed their many road trips together during the winter months down South over the years. Mom could often be seen walking her beloved dog, Tia. She never missed out on an opportunity to go to the Casino or enjoy live music and dancing. Mom touched many lives and shared wonderful memories with family and friends. Her love of life was infectious and her smile always lit up a room. Her kindness never ended and was always the first to help care for others. Mom was the kindest person you could ever meet and she always took great pride in ensuring her family was looked after.
One of her joys was cooking your favourite foods for the many occasions that life presented. Mountains of pasta, fresh bread and baking pies to name a few. She always stood out in the crowd when it came to adding that special touch to any meal ensuring you always left with a full tummy and a smile!
Antonia was predeceased by her husband Oscar in 1984, parents Pietro Rossi and Rosalia Caschera, sister Maria Rossi, brothers Francesco Rossi and Mario Coronelli, niece Antonella Bellocchi and nephew Maurizio Rossi.
She will be lovingly remembered by her life partner Lloyd Henton, her children Doris (Rod) Skirving, Sara Campbell (Wilf Denzler), step-daughter Tara (Kevin) Hayden, grandchildren Jordan (Jessi) Campbell, Cory Campbell (Hailey Northcott), Todd Skirving and great grandchildren Jayci Campbell, Carson Campbell, Caleb Campbell, Cassidy Hayden as well as her siblings Marcella Rossi, Luigino Rossi and numerous nieces and nephews.
While we know that she is at peace and that her struggles are at an end, pain and sadness remain. The way she touched our lives will last forever. We ask you to keep those memories alive by sharing them with us and with one another.
Her gentle spirit shall be with us for eternity. We cannot thank all the staff enough at Princess Court for their love and care during our challenging time. We will be eternally grateful for your compassion.
Funeral services will be private for immediate family members.
