Lawrence “Fan” Price
January 7, 1971 – December 21, 2021
“Maybe it’s not about the happy ending…maybe it’s about the story”
On December 21, 2021 the world lost a great son, brother, husband, father, uncle and friend. With broken hearts we announce Lawrence’s passing following a courageous battle with cancer. Lawrence packed a lot of living into his 50 years, so the memories are many. Although his life story was cut short, it has many, many amazing chapters.
Lawrence will be forever missed by his wife Crystal and their sons Connor and Cohen. He is survived by his mother Marge Price, brothers Walter, Garnet (Darla), Ed (Michelle), sister Bernice Simmons (Bill), in-laws Ed Arnold, Gina White, Curtis & Lori Russell, his nieces and nephews Shane, Chad, Shawna, Amy, Cassie, Sheena, Bradley and Ainsley.
We find peace knowing Lawrence has gone to be reunited with his dad, grandparents, aunts, uncles, a few good friends who were also taken too soon and his faithful, furry companions Buddy and Russell.
Lawrence grew up in Barclay, enjoying all things outdoors with the neighbourhood kids. Many life-long friendships were formed and the nickname Fan was born on the Barclay outdoor rink. He enjoyed each and every one of his years at DHS and trade-school, taking part in many adventures, parties and shenanigans. He was so fun to be around and made friends with ease. Lawrence was a kind and generous man full of personality and humour; these traits were a perfect fit for his professional career in sales. Lawrence was a hard-working provider and excelled in his role, always striving to do better, going above and beyond to meet the needs of his customers. His proudest accomplishments were his sons, he was actively involved in all aspects of their lives and loved to spend his time either watching them at sporting events and practices, taking them on adventures or simply spending time together around the house. Lawrence’s family and friends have many miles of treasured memories spent in the bush, on the lake and cruising the backroads. Summers spent camping were a family favourite, Lawrence was an amazing outdoor cook, preferring charcoal and open fire grilling. Fan’s famous ribs and baked beans, chili, or big weekend breakfasts were summer traditions with family & friends. Sitting around a campfire will never be quite the same without his jokes and stories. Lawrence’s ideal holiday was a trip to Saskatchewan to visit his brother and extended family, he was always fond of childhood memories, stories and family ‘out west’ and enjoyed showing Crystal and the boys the Saskatchewan landscapes and lifestyle. Five years ago Lawrence chose sobriety in order to be the best version of himself as a person, a husband and a father; he wanted to make family memories with the boys, and looking back now these years were truly a gift; Lawrence, Crystal, Connor and Cohen did everything together and made some amazing memories.
