What a year.
We said goodbye and good riddance to 2021 a few days ago.
Was it that bad? There must have been something good that you can reflect on and build on for 2022!! Think about it.
For me professionally one of the good things – I was able to learn a new computer on-air program system that scared the heck out of me when I first looked at it. I marvelled in the fact that it wasn’t that bad after all and that this old guy still had some learning ability left (‘some’ being the key word. Please don’t change it again.).
On the personal side – I helped several family members cope with a full year of COVID madness. Oh wait that was them helping me. Hmmmm….
Through the madness of the year away from work I was able to visit family in Southern Ontario for a short period of time.
I also led two Team fundraisers during the year that were very successful thanks to the wonderful people of Northwestern Ontario who opened their wallets and hearts. The first was to show honor and respect for the 298 employees at Dryden Regional Health Centre who were at the forefront every day in 2021 during the pandemic. With community and business support we managed to raise just under $14,000 that was turned into Safeway gift cards and given to the DRHC employees. The second fundraiser, which has just wrapped up, was targetted to help those in the Dryden area who have Dementia and Alzheimers. Again the compassionate people came forward to contribute a collective $8,000 that is being used to purchase Dementia and Alzheimers aids to help many many people including those in need at Dryden’s long term care home.
Those are a few of my professional and personal hilights of 2021. Now let’s hear about yours and build on them for the future!! You can do it!
