With new COVID-19 restrictions now in effect, Sioux Lookout and Dryden are outlining what changes at municipal facilities.
There are 50% capacity limits in a number of indoor public settings, including:
- Non-spectator areas of facilities used for sports and recreational fitness activities (gyms)
- Indoor recreational amenities
The Sioux Lookout Recreation Centre gym once again requires booking appointments as well, to ensure capacity and physical distancing requirements can be met at all times.
As for the Dryden Pool and Fitness Centre, an appointment is not required at this time but it’s recommended.
For all of Ontario, proof of vaccination and government issued ID is now required for anyone between the ages of 12 and 17 playing organized sports. (i.e. swimming lessons, hockey, figure skating, swim team etc.)
Capacity limits currently do not apply to any portion of a business or place being used for a wedding, funeral, or a religious service, rite, or ceremony.
Food and drink services is also prohibited at sporting events, concert venues, theatres and cinemas, bingo halls, and other gaming establishments.
Effective January 4, 2022, the use of an enhanced COVID-19 vaccine certificate with a QR code and the Verify Ontario app will be required anywhere proof of vaccination is required in the province.
