While it’s not Christmas just yet, it’s time to un-decorate the Dryden Public Library’s Christmas Tree.
The annual fundraiser goes towards supporting programs in the new year.
“By making a donation of fifteen dollars of more before Thursday December 23, you’ll receive one of the handmade ornaments,” explains Caroline Goulding, CEO and Chief Librarian. ‘Since we are a registered charity, you’ll also get a tax receipt.”
Goulding notes 2022 programs will be dependent on COVID-19 restrictions.
“We will one hundred percent be offering our take home craft kits, those have been really really popular during the pandemic. That program is every two weeks and you can pick up the next kit for your child on Monday (December 20).”
If you’re looking for something else to do to get in the holiday spirit, Goulding says the library’s Family Present Hunt is on now.
“We have put different letters in the windows of downtown businesses, there’s 13 of them. Families can walk, find the letters and then unscramble them to find the secret message and drop off completed entry forms before 8pm on Tuesday December 21 for a chance to win a prize. You can pick up a form at the library or print one from our Facebook page.”
The DPL is also encouraging area families to give the gift of reading this year.
Library cards are free for Dryden area students in Kindergarten to Grade 12.
