Another 24 new cases of COVID-19 in the Northwestern Health Unit catchment area.
Health Officials report the following new cases:
- 2 new positive COVID-19 test results in the Dryden Health Hub area
- 6 new positive COVID-19 test results in the Sioux Lookout Health Hub area
- 12 new positive COVID-19 test results in the Kenora Health Hub area
- 1 new positive COVID-19 test results in the Emo Health Hub area
- 3 new positive COVID-19 test results in the Rainy River Health Hub area
This brings the active case count up to 81.

According to the NWHU website, there are now five hospitalizations in the region compared to three yesterday.
In the meantime, Dr. Kit Young Hoon has recommended the immediate suspension of all indoor extra-curricular activities for those aged 4-11 in the Fort Frances, Emo, and Rainy River areas.
There’s been two Fort Frances elementary school closures this week due to COVID-19.
The Thunder Bay District has 57 active cases with the addition of 10 new ones.
Ontario reports 3,124 cases.
Individuals who are not fully vaccinated represent 23.0% of Ontario’s total population and amount to 874 of Ontario's 3,124 new reported cases. 130 cases are in individuals with an unknown vaccination status.
