‘Tis the season for giving. Amongst the giving gifters are those who surprise co-workers with a token of appreciation. Not to expensive, not to cheap acknowledgements that help build positive Team atmosphere…..or not.
This week I was surprised to receive in the mail a wonderful box of chocolates from a work colleague in Kenora! Wow!! What a wonderful, awesome, mostly delicious treat to receive. I say ‘mostly’ because a few of the chocolate covered morsels had pecans in them. I do not like pecans.
I have decided to keep the season of giving going by taking just the pecan infested chocolates, put them in a holiday type plastic sealable baggie and gift them to CKDR Afternoon Host – Oldcorn!! I know – awesome right!?!
Not sure if I should tell him that I had the box of chocolates at home sitting on the coffee table……lid off……and my dog Dexter ‘inspected’ them while I was getting a baggie from the kitchen. Next thing I know a few teeth marks and some moisture appeared on a few of the morsels that were still in the box. Upon further inspection a few of the chocolates were gone! The good news though? The pecan infested ones were still in the box – now a little wet and scratched up….but still there!! Yes! All I had to do was leave the lid off the box and eventually the dog slober dried up and the pecan chocolates looked almost like new. I’ve put them in the baggie. Saved! No need to thank me Oldcorn. It’s my….our gift to you. Team!
