The Northwestern Health Unit is reporting three new cases of COVID-19 in the Dryden-Red Lake reporting region Friday.
With the new positive test results, there are now 17 active cases.
The Kenora area has nine, five in Dryden-Red Lake, two in the Rainy River District and one in the Sioux Lookout area.
Cases continue to go up in the Thunder Bay District Health Unit area.
There are 22 new cases today making for 68 active.
Ontario registers 927 new cases with 494 coming from those who are not fully vaccinated and 55 cases are in individuals with an unknown vaccination status.
More residents in the region are also eligible for booster shots.

- Anyone aged 70 and over (born in 1951 or earlier)
- First Nation, Inuit, and Métis adults and their family/household members
- Health care workers and first responders
- People who received a complete series of a viral vector vaccine (2 doses of AstraZeneca or 1 dose of Janssen)
- People living in a retirement home, elder care lodge, or those living in a congregate setting for seniors, including designated essential caregivers

First doses: Anyone aged 5 or older (or born in 2016 or earlier)
Second doses: The recommended interval between first and second dose is 56 days (8 weeks)
