Another positive case of COVID-19 at Valleyview School in Kenora.
While it comes from the classroom that was already closed, the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board says it doesn’t seem to be connected to the first case.
An investigation by the Northwestern Heath Unit shows the new case likely was contracted outside the school, therefore it’s not considered an outbreak.
The Health Unit reminds families that the most common risk of COVID in our area has always been, and continues to be, contact with people in private homes.
There are 16 active cases in the region, 12 come from the Kenora area.
