Enrolment is up at the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board.
There are 4,746 students attending elementary and secondary schools across the board’s coverage area.
That’s up 107 or 2.3% from early projections.
Staff note due to the uncertainty of the pandemic, they budgeted conservatively when coming up with the numbers.
Elementary enrolment is up 59 students, 2% over previous estimates.
Open Roads in Dryden and Beaver Brae elementary in Kenora saw the biggest increase.
However, there are numerous schools with numbers that are slightly less than anticipated.
High school enrolment is up by 48 students, 2.6% higher than projected.
Sioux North and Beaver Brae saw the biggest gains.
On the other had, Red Lake High School has a decrease of 11 students or 5% compared to projections.
In total, when you include virtual learning, enrolment is up 229 students or 5% compared to the same period last year.
Elementary enrolment is up 134, while secondary numbers are up 95.
