A huge spike in COVID numbers in our area.
The Northwestern Health Unit is reporting nine new cases since the last update Friday.
Eight come from the Kenora region, with one recorded in the District of Rainy River.
There are now 14 active cases.
There are 17 new cases in the Thunder Bay District, with 30 actives.
Province-wide, there were 627 new positives today.
Health officials report 282 were unvaccinated people, 23 were partially vaccinated, 286 were fully vaccinated and for 36 people the vaccination status was unknown.
There was one COVID-related death.
