Four were in the Kenora area, while there was one in the District of Rainy River.
There are now 6 active cases in the region.
Meantime, officials are reporting a milestone as 90% of the population over the age of 12 has received at least one dose of the vaccine.
More than 13,000 have been administered throughout the region.
The COVID Pfizer vaccine will soon be available for those aged 5-11.
The health unit says their clinics will be ready when the shots arrive.
Until delivery dates are known, parents and guardians should wait to book an appointment for their children.
The health unit will advertise widely when clinics are available for this age group, which is expected within the next few weeks.
Back to case numbers, they spiked in the Thunder Bay region with 7 new cases, all related to close contact.
There are now 19 actives.
Province-wide numbers continue to climb with 793 new positives today.
