Dr. Kit Young Hoon is the Medical Officer of Health for the Northwestern Health Unit and is urging everyone to get the vaccine as it is expected to be an active flu season.
“We’ve had inquiries from the public about wanting a certain type of influenza vaccine. Please know that the Ministry of Health has said that there’s no preferential recommendation for seniors to receive one vaccine over another.”
Dr. Young Hoon adds, “All flu vaccines offered by the province help to protect against the flu and are safe and effective for seniors. All vaccines are important to contributing to the province’s efforts to protect people from getting influenza. The most important thing is not to delay vaccination.”
