The holiday season is fast approaching and Kinsmen and Domtar are helping you get in the festive spirit.
Dryden’s Christmas Tour of Lights is returning for a second year.
The event was held last year and was a huge hit in the community.
The Tour of Lights is substituting for the annual Christmas Parade, which can’t happen this year.
Dianne Loewen and Ryan Graham were guests on the CKDR Morning Show Tuesday to encourage everyone to start building their creative Christmas displays.
You are asked to register online on the main page at CKDR.net or by visiting Tour of Lights Registration so community members can come out and enjoy some festive displays and enjoy the lights.
Loewen says, “Once folks are registered, we’re going to be having a map populated, which again you can access through the CKDR website, which will illustrate where all of the locations are for folks to come out and take a look. We invite everyone to cruise through the community at their leisure once that map is ready to go. Check it out.”
There will be a “Drive By” visit and voting with treats and prizes at the Centre on December 3.
Residents will be asked to vote for their favourites in the categories of; Best City Display, Best Rural Display, Best Business or Community Display.
Volunteers will be on hand to hand out treats and accept donations for Christmas Cheer and the Dryden Food Bank.
Domtar will be matching all monetary donations collected that night.
COVID safety protocols will be in effect.
A special guest will also be making an appearance for all the kids.
