Ed was a friend of Bill W for 43 years and was an active member and trusted friend to many in the Dryden Footprints Group.
In 1990, Ed married Marjorie (Senior) and together they raised her children Catherine and Richard.
Following his retirement, he and Marjorie opened Salavich’s Serge ‘n Sew, one of the few Husqvarna sewing machine dealers and repair shops in Northwestern Ontario.
Ed is survived by his wife of 31 years, Marjorie; his children Brad (Mike Almond), Tara (Chris Lind), Catherine (Tim) Dashnay and Richard (Heather Bennett) Goldsworthy; his grandchildren Deirdre, Karissa, Aza, Levi, Brooklyn, Llyr and Teagan.
He is also survived by his sisters Ora Semeniuk, Viola Lindquist, and Lana (Horst) Lang, his nieces and nephews Joe (Heather) Semeniuk, Stephen (Jill Russell) Semeniuk, Saralyn Semeniuk, Reg (Debbie) Lindquist, Rae-Lynn (Glen) Meade, Jana (Darren) Froome, Erik (Adi) Lang, and their families.
He was predeceased by his parents Bill and Sadie, brothers-in-law John Semeniuk and Reg Lindquist and nephew Guy Brisson.
A Memorial Service for family and close friends, officiated by his sister, Ora Semeniuk, will be held at the Dryden Community Funeral Home, Wednesday, November 10, 2021 at 1:30 in the afternoon, with interment to follow.
In lieu of flowers, the family is requesting donations be made to Tamarack House in Thunder Bay; their services provide accommodation and guidance for patients and family members receiving cancer care treatments at the Thunder Bay Regional Health Sciences Centre, 984 Oliver Rd, Thunder Bay, ON P7B 7C7 or through the Dryden Community Funeral Home, 249 Grand Trunk Avenue, Dryden, ON P8N 2X3
