A Washington State man will serve 102 months in prison for raping a six-year-old child while vacationing in northwestern Ontario.
John Timothy Whicher will also face ten years of supervised release.
He plead guilty in February to the charge of engaging in illicit sexual conduct.
Court was told the incident took place in August 2017 when Whicher took the child to a family cabin, passing through the border at Fort Frances.
Whicher was arrested after the child returned home and told a parent.
U.S. Attorney Nick Brown says law enforcement both in Washington State and Ontario worked collaboratively in the case.
