A new ride for the Ice Dogs Junior Hockey team courtesy of Dryden GM.
Dealership owner Nick Beyak and staff were on hand Monday for a special presentation with the donation of a new and improved bus.
Beyak felt it was important to give back to the community.
“Not only can the Ice Dogs use this bus for themselves, but they can now charter the bus out. So, that will generate revenue and other organizations in town can have that access to a bus, reliable transportation, which is a huge plus.”
Beyak adds, “Because of all of our customers over the years. I’m very grateful for all those customers. Number two because I believe very strongly it (the team) enhances the quality of life of Dryden. For everyone living here, for my staff, for their families, for everyone. It’s a big part of why we do it.”
Team President Mike Sveinson says he’s grateful for the ongoing support.
“The relationship isn’t just the naming sponsorship. Nick’s been available to help us in different situations throughout the years when it’s been well and beyond of what he does on an annual basis.”
Sveinson says it’s the team responsibility to do a good job for the entire dealership and the community.
He stresses the biggest expense every year is transportation, and their biggest concern is safety, and this gesture covers both.
Sveinson notes the generous donation provides financial freedom and peace of mind regarding safety.
The Ice Dogs have been plagued by bus problems over the past few years.
