Two important pieces are ready for download today from the Province.
Your QR code to allow you access into places like restaurants and gyms and the app allows those business to verify your code.
For your QR code, the province is rolling it out over three days and will be available for those by birth month.
- January to April: October 15
- May to August: October 16
- September to December: October 17
With everyone’s certificate available for download on October 18.

The Province of Ontario released the business app, Verify Ontario, on Thursday, which will allow business to scan people’s certificates and give them a clear indication on if the person is cleared to enter.
After scanning a QR code, the business or organization will see either a green checkmark (meets vaccine requirements), a red X (for an invalid certificate) or they will see a yellow warning (the QR code cannot be read).
The business app will also be able to scan government issued QR codes from British Columbia and Québec.
Eventually nation-wide capabilities will be added to the provincial app as things are developed.
