It will be a somber but important evening in Sioux Lookout tonight. (Monday)
The Sisters in Spirit Vigil is being held at 6 o’clock at the Queen Elizabeth High School Track.
Darlene Angeconeb is the Chair of the Municipal Truth and Reconciliation Committee.
She says the event honours the lives of missing and murdered Indigenous women, girls and gender diverse people.
It’s aimed at supporting grieving families and creates an opportunity for healing.
Angeconeb says, “We hope everybody comes out and we hope everybody remembers the missing children and say a prayer for all the children’s graves that are being found across Canada.”
