The Alzheimer Society of Kenora-Rainy River is trying out a 50/50 draw to raise some money locally.
Fund Development Coordinator Shyer Henrickson says the draw replaces their Cash Calendars, which seemed to be decreased in popularity.
“Last year just shy of half of selling all the tickets that we actually had printed so we went back to the drawing board, reevaluated things a little bit, spoke to people, just tried to figure out what people were interested in,” explains Hendrickson.
“So we pivoted into a 50/50 draw.”
Hendrickson says the draw will be on December 16th and tickets are available at select local merchants, and will be online late this week.
Hendrickson says they printed only 500 tickets, and they are $20 each and will be available until December 15th.
