The Northwestern Health Unit is reporting that the number of active cases of COVID-19 in the region has gone down.
There are now five cases, one of which is in an area hospital.
Three come from the Rainy River district with one each in the Kenora and Dryden Red Lake regions.
There was a new positive COVID-19 test result in the Dryden Red Lake region today but is considered resolved so it’s not included in active case count.
As of Tuesday morning, 86.2 per-cent of those eligible (12+) have received at least one dose of COVID-19 vaccine while 78.6 per-cent have had two doses.
Those numbers are in line with the provincial numbers of 86 and 80.5 per-cent respectively.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit reports two new cases making for four active.
Across Ontario, Health Minister Christine Elliott says there are 466 new cases to report with 347 or just under 75 per-cent in people who are not fully vaccinated or have an unknown vaccine status.
