Provincial Police have confirmed that one person has died following a crash east of Dryden on Highway 17 Thursday.
Around 10:45 am, Dryden OPP received a report of a motor vehicle collision on Highway 17 in Southworth Township.
Police say a Westbound pick up truck lost control and struck an Eastbound Tractor Trailer unit.
The driver 68 year old Gary Vadnais of Ramsey, Minnesota was pronounced dead at the scene while the passenger 61 year old Julie Vadnais also of Ramsey was flown to Thunder Bay with life threatening injuries.
No other injuries were reported.
The Trans-Canada between Dinorwic and Wabigoon fully reopened around 11:00 pm.
