Election day is tomorrow (Monday) and the Kenora riding candidates are making one final push for votes.
CKDR News asks the five candidates why area residents should vote for them when they cast their ballot.
Conservative Incumbent Eric Melillo says, “I hope that people in our riding will reflect on the last two years, the track record of advocacy that I’ve done for our region and the past four for Canada. As I’ve said, I believe that this elect9ion is about who we trust to guide our post-pandemic economic recovery and I believe that Canada’s Conservatives have the only real plan to get that done that will support jobs and industries in Northwestern Ontario. We are the party that will support law abiding firearms owners and stand up for our way of life in Northern Ontario.”
Janine Seymour of the NDP encourages everyone to exercise their right to vote and says, “It’s been a 150 years of the same two governments. We’ve flip flopped from red, blue, red, red, red, blue, blue, blue and now it’s time for change. The pandemic has awakened something inside of all of us, change is coming and it’s coming in an orange so join me.”
Liberal candidate David Bruno says if elected he will represent all of Northwestern Ontario.
“I bring 20 years of working experience as an entrepreneur, successful. I’ve worked with the government, I’ve spoken directly to Ministers with a direct open line of communication with them, I’ve spoken to the Prime Minister, I know how to get legislation passed and I can get services that this riding deserves.”
Remi Rheault says picking Green will finally give our area a loud voice on Parliament Hill.
“I do not have to tow the party line according to the Green Party’s constitution, I get to represent the riding of Kenora from one end to the other and it’s the people that are important.”
Craig Martin says the People’s Party will restore Conservative and rural-Conservative values in Canada
“We are the only Conservative option, the Progressive Conservative Party of Canada is now only Conservative by name.”
Voting day is tomorrow, Monday September 20.
