Environment Canada has issued a severe thunderstorm warning for the Dryden, Vermilion Bay and Ignace areas.
Thunderstorms are expected to develop in the late afternoon.
Storms are capable of producing strong wind gusts up to 110 kilometres an hour, hail with a diameter of 1 to 4 centimeteres and heavy downpours with 20 to 40 milimetres possible in an hour.
A rainfall warning is in effect for Ear Falls and Red Lake areas.
Heavy rainfall is expected this afternoon that may see amounts of 50 to 60 millimetres for areas extending from Woodland Caribou Provincial Park to Coli Lake.
Localized flooding in low-lying areas is possible. Watch for possible washouts near rivers, creeks and culverts.
