It is with heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Laurent “Larry” LeBlanc of Dryden, ON. Laurent passed on Wednesday, August 25th, 2021 at the Dryden Regional Health Centre; he was 83 years old.
Laurent was born in Robertville, New Brunswick on May 13, 1938 to Médard LeBlanc and Thérère Haché. Laurent spent his younger years along the east coast, before making his way to the Dryden area where he had an extensive career in the forestry industry as a heavy-duty machine operator. He prided himself on his skill, speed and technique and spent over 30 years mastering and leading his field of work.
Laurent had a passion for nice cars, old-time country music and western movies. He loved to travel and spend time connecting with family. His greatest joy in life was his granddaughters, whom he spent countless hours with over the years.
Laurent had a soft spot for animals of all kinds. He was often seen feeding the deer, walking his dog, or visiting animals at the pet shelter. Other days, he would be spotted enjoying coffee at McDonald’s with friends.
Laurent will be forever remembered and greatly missed by his son, Marcel Perth, granddaughters, Kieran & Makaah McMonagle, Allison Perth, and great-granddaughters, Kentley Gardner & Lennox Parker. In addition, Laurent leaves behind, his siblings: Leona (Norman Cox), Bertha, and Patsy; his son-in-law Doug; and stepdaughters, Jane, Judy and Julie. Laurent will also be missed by numerous nieces, nephews and extended family members.
Laurent is predeceased by his parents, Médard and Thésère; siblings, Alvin, Lydia, Lucien, Stella, Rita, Léonard, Adrien, Dorine, and Mathias; stepdaughter, Kathy Huntus; and his beloved dog, and faithful sidekick, PG.
A special thank you to Dr. Barrie, and the staff at the Dryden Regional Health Centre for their ongoing care, professionalism, and compassion through this difficult journey.
Cremation has taken place and a private family service/interment will occur at a later date.
