It is with broken hearts we announce the passing of Wilma Marie Bye, who passed away on June 12, 2021, at Princess Court Long Term Care. Wilma was born on May 3, 1942, in Dryden, Ontario to Bill and Mabel Franklin.
Wilma attended Britton Elementary School and Dryden High School and married Milton Bye on August 19, 1960. She worked for Canada Post for many years. Then, in her 40s, she returned to school and obtained her Registered Practical Nursing diploma, after which she affected many lives with her compassion and caring. Wilma also enjoyed many pastimes, including fishing, camping, blueberry picking, canning, gardening, knitting, sewing, quilting, painting, baking, and furniture reupholster, to name a few. If you could craft it, she would do it, and you only had to look around Princess Court to experience her paintbrush touch.
Wilma is predeceased by her parents Bill and Mabel Franklin, brothers George and Gordon, sister Patricia Hopkins, and son-in-law Brian Kardal. Left to cherish her memory is her husband of 60 years, Milton Bye; sister-in-law Osvalda Franklin; children Clayton Bye, Tanya McArthur (Gerry), Shelley Kardal, Micheal Bye (Debbie), and Stephanie Cholette (Pierre); grandchildren Hayden, Jackson, and McKenna Bye, Crystal Bergman (Leif), Tara Vandall (Shaun), Ashley Kardal (Mitch), Becky Doucette (Jamie), Ryan Kardal (Intan), Christopher Bye (Krista), and Vanessa and Julien Cholette; great-grandchildren Ethen, Aria, and Elliot Bergman, Emma Halley, D’Andre Kardal and Elliot Kardal-Moore, Lucas, Brody and Jack Doucette, Ayla Kardal, and Kallie Bye; and numerous nieces and nephews.
A Memorial Luncheon to Celebrate Wilma’s life will be held Saturday September 11th, 2021 from 11:30-1:00 in the Frist United Church Fellowship Hall. Private Family interment will take place.
The family wishes to express their sincere appreciation for all the compassion and care received at Princess Court over the years.
