Area forest fires continue to keep the Municipality of Red Lake on high alert.
Officials confirm in their update this afternoon that Kenora 51 to the Southwest, Red Lake 77 to the West and Red Lake 16 to the North fires don’t pose an immediate threat for evacuation.
Municipal Officials are keeping in close contact with the Ministry of Natural Resources and community partners about the forest fire conditions and residents are asked to stay prepared should weather conditions change in that an evacuation must be called.
Going forward, unless something significant occurs, the Municipality says they will not be using the alert system.
Updates will be communicated through Facebook, the Municipal Website, Newsletter and Radio.
The alert system will only be used in the event of an emergency or significant advancement of the fires towards area communities.
Next update by the Municipality will be provided Thursday, July 29th at 3:00 p.m.
