The Dryden Police Service had a significant increase in calls for service last week.
In their weekly update, Police responded to 234 calls and laid 36 charges under the Highway Traffic Act and Criminal Code.
Some of the calls Dryden Police attended from July 12-18 include:
• Property Crime – 9
• Crime against Person – 16
• Police Assist/Assist Public – 43
• Mental Health – 11
• Traffic Complaints/Enforcement – 11
• Foot Patrol/Property checks – 21
• Liquor Licence Act – 9
• Suspicious/Unwanted Persons – 25
• Other – 89
In their previous report local police responded to 165 calls and laid 17 charges.
Police had 14 more calls for police assistance and 10 more for foot patrol/property checks this week, with other call categories staying relatively the same.
