Forest fire conditions are expected to be relatively stable for the next four to five days in the Red Lake District.
The Municipality of Red Lake says while an evacuation is not likely in the coming days, officials urge residents to stay informed and prepared if a forest fire threatens area communities.
Municipal Officials also say conditions remain dry and forest fire challenges will likely stick around most of the summer.
The Municipality’s next update will be Monday, July 26th at 3:00 p.m. unless circumstances change.
If conditions change or worsen significantly, a Municipal ALERT will be issued immediately.

Red Lake Fire Update
Based on the information the Municipality received last evening and this morning from the MNRF, we have a good sense that for the next four (4) to five (5) days our conditions will remain relatively stable.
We are basing this information on the following: Recent consultation with MNRF and other community partners; Current and short-term weather predictions; Current and projected Forest Fire behaviour; Significant ground support and break line accomplishments; and established tie ins to natural boundaries (lakes and rivers).
The situation over the next few days gives us an opportunity to relax and enjoy some sense of calmness, however, we must be mindful that our conditions remain dry, and our challenges will likely remain for much of the summer.
An evacuation is NOT likely in the coming days, but we must continue to stay informed and prepared if a forest fire is threatening the doorstep of our Municipality.
Our next community update will occur on Monday, July 26th at 3:00 p.m. unless circumstances change, and a communication is necessary.
If circumstances were to change or worsen significantly, an ALERT will be issued immediately.
Take care and stay safe!
