The Ontario government is making good on its promise to deliver affordable energy and expand natural gas pipelines to the Dryden area.
Kenora-Rainy River MPP Greg Rickford was in Dryden Friday to confirm a nearly $957,000 commitment to connect some 30 homes and businesses to the system.
Rickford says access to natural gas will help more families and businesses fined energy savings, while promoting economic development and job creation.
The average household could save between $250 to $1,500 per year in energy costs by switching to natural gas.
Businsses are expected to save up to 30% per year.
The expansion along a section of Highway 594 will be carried out by Enbridge Gas.
Spokesperson Cynthia Hansen says they are excited to work with local officials and the community to move the project forward.
