A clear sign many drivers are disregarding traffic rules as fatal collisions involving commercial motor vehicles are on the rise this year.
Provincial Police have responded to 32 fatal crashes this year, up from 23 at this time last year.
Heading into the second half of the year, there have been nearly 3,000 related collisions, up 9% over 2020 and accounting for close to 13% of the total collisions on OPP-patrolled roads.
Improper lane changes, following too closely, speeding and driver inattention have been the leading factors in the year’s large truck-related collisions.
