Fire crews worked hard and diligently Thursday to extinguish 11 forest fires burning across the region.
Their effort kept the active count below 100 with 94 confirmed fires reported.
There were 13 new starts yesterday.
Five were in the hard hit Red Lake district.
The Kenora region recorded four new fires.
The hazard remains high to extreme with no rain in sight.
A reminder an outdoor fire ban is in effect throughout the northwest.
There are 32 fires classed as not under control.
