As we start to see the light at the end of the tunnel with the COVID-19 pandemic, the Dryden Food Bank is seeing more demand now than in 2020.
“When we compare our 2021 number from the last five months to 2020, we have seen an average of 110 more families needing help from the Dryden Food Bank than last year,” explains Manager Al Huckabay.
Huckabay stresses many local residents and families are still struggling with food insecurity.
“We’re finding that the need is still there even though we’re coming out of the pandemic, hopefully, and people are actually getting back to work there are still those economically being impacted by what’s happened and so our numbers are up this year.”
Huckabay continues, “people are still seeking help and we’re glad to have groups and other organizations to help relieve the hunger and renew hope into peoples’ lives.”
Monetary and non perishable food donations are always welcome at the Dryden Food Bank to help area families and residents.
