A Restricted Fire Zone remains in effect for much of Northwestern Ontario due to high to extreme forest fire hazard conditions.
As of 12:01 a.m. Saturday July 10 the Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is expanding the RFZ to include Thunder Bay and portions of Nipigon and Wawa districts.
The RFZ is already in effect for the Kenora, Fort Frances, Dryden districts and portions of the Sioux Lookout and Red Lake districts until further notice.
Outdoor fires are banned.
Portable gas stoves may still be used but must be handled with extreme care.
