A heat warning has been issued for most of Northwestern Ontario this weekend.
The warning includes Dryden, Sioux Lookout, Red Lake, Ear Falls and Kenora.
Extreme heat will start Saturday and last into early next week with temperatures reaching 29 to 34 degrees Celsius and humidex values in the mid thirties.
We’ll get a break from the heat at night with temperatures going down to 17 to 20 degrees Celsius.
Drink plenty of water and never leave people or pets inside a parked vehicle.
Risks are greater for young children, pregnant people, older adults, people with chronic illnesses and people working or exercising outdoors.
Watch for the symptoms of heat illness: dizziness/fainting; nausea/vomiting; rapid breathing and heartbeat; extreme thirst; decreased urination with unusually dark urine.
Temperatures should lighten up with a cold front is expected to set in Monday night into Tuesday morning in the northwest.
