The Northwestern Health Unit is reporting one new case of COVID-19.
For the second day in a row the positive test result comes from the Sioux Lookout region.
This brings the NWHU catchment area’s active case count to eight with three cases in the Kenora region, two each in the Rainy River and Sioux Lookout regions and one in the Dryden/Red Lake region.
The NWHU notes one of the active cases in the Kenora region is currently outside of the health unit’s catchment area.
To date 77, 953 doses of the COVID-19 vaccine have been administered in the NWHU region, with 71.1 percent of those 18+ having received at least one dose and 34.9 percent fully vaccinated.
Meanwhile the Thunder Bay District reports no new cases and the active case count has dropped to 29.
