Dryden area residents are waking up to the smell of smoke Friday morning.
It’s from three forest fires burning about 58 kilometres north of Fort Frances.
Two are classed as not under control at 5 hectares in size and water bombers attacked the fires Thursday afternoon.
The third is being held at 2.5 hectares.
There was also a small fire about 30 kilometres southwest of Ignace near Paddy Lake.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry reports 30 active fire in the region and nine are considered out of control.
The fire hazard is high to extreme but rain is in the forecast.
