Dryden’s Bruce Ramsay has been named ECHL Coach and General Manager of the Year for the 2020-2021 season.
In his second campaign behind the bench of the Wichita Thunder, affiliate of the Edmonton Oilers, Ramsay guided the team to a 41-22-8 record and a second-place finish in the Western Conference.
It marked the first 40-plus win season since 2011-2012 for the Thunder.
Wichita went 22-10-4 on the road, a new franchise record, and the team lead the league in victories away from home.
Ramsay becomes the second coach in franchise history to win the John Brophy Award.
Ramsay and the Thunder were eliminated from the playoffs Monday night with a 4-3 overtime loss to Fort Wayne in Game 5 of their series.
