Two local educators have been recognized by the Keewatin-Patricia District School Board for 25 years of service.
Syrena Lalonde is the Vice-Principal at Dryden High School, while Fiona Baranesky is an elementary teacher at the Golden Learning Centre in Red Lake.
Anne McDonald is also celebrating 25 years in Kenora.
Board officials note all three have been able to adapt to changing times and challenges in order to meet the needs of students and families.
They stress that Lalonde and Baranesky have made a big difference in the lives of many.
The board, however, does have a number of vacancies to fill in the coming school year.
Trustees have accepted the retirement of 27 individuals.
Among those calling it a career is Superintendent of Education Joan Kantola.
Officials stress they are proud of all retirees and thank them for their years of service.
