It is with broken hearts that the family of Caroline “Carol” Margaret Lee (nee George) announce her passing on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at age 71. After a very brief but brave battle with cancer, Carol passed peacefully in her daughter’s home with her family surrounding her.
Carol was predeceased by her loving mother Doris Bachynsky and youngest brother Edward George.
Carol will be dearly missed by beloved husband Jack of 51 years, daughter Lori (Rob) Holmes and their children, Melissa, Josh and Julia of Claremont, ON; son Jamie (LeeAnn) of Winnipeg; younger siblings David George, Susan George, Linda (Clint) O’Dell and Douglas George.
Carol will be forever remembered as a wonderful, caring person by her family and so many friends she had connection with through her years in Dryden and Florida; including those she chummed with as part of the golf and curling club and her long career with Ontario Hydro.
Born and raised in Winnipeg, MB, Carol and Jack moved to Dryden, ON in 1972 for a great career opportunity for Jack. Not long after settling in Dryden, Carol joined Ontario Hydro and worked faithfully in various positions over the years, retiring in 2003.
After Carol’s retirement, she and Jack began their annual winter stay in Kissimmee, Florida. They have enjoyed many wonderful years hosting friends and family in their beautiful home with great neighbours surrounding them.
Carol’s other interests included making her home and gardens beautiful in both Dryden and Florida, reading, spoiling her children and grandchildren and caring for her sweet Florida cats Tommy, Sam & Miss Kitty.
A small Celebration of Life service will be held in Claremont on Thursday, June 10. The service will be recorded for viewing at a later time.
Should anyone have a message for the family or would like the link to the recorded service, please send to carolinelee.memories@gmail.com.
Donations in Carol’s memory may be made to The Canadian Cancer Society or a charity of your choice.
Taken too soon, forever loved.
