The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry is currently dealing with 51 active fires in the region.
Twenty-four are considered not under control.
There were eight new starts Sunday, only one in the Dryden District.
Fire crews had to deal with 44 new fires Saturday in hot, humid and dry conditions.
All of the new fires are small and pose no threat.
The fire hazard is high to extreme along the U.S. border in the Fort Frances and Thunder Bay sectors.
The remainder of the region features moderate to low conditions.
