One person managed to walk away unscathed after a small plane went down Wednesday in a remote area about 80 kilometres north of Sioux Lookout.
The Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry says the commercial aircraft was forced to make an emergency landing on Vermilion River Road.
The pilot and lone occupant was not injured during the landing and made his way to a nearby MNRF facility.
The Socket Lake Forward Attack Base is a remote staging area for far north fire fighting.
Staff there assessed the pilot’s physical condition, finding him to be in good health.
At the site the man was able to radio for assistance.
As a precaution the Ministry flew over the crash site to ensure it had not caused a wild fire.
