It is with great sadness that the family announces the sudden passing of Agnes (Aggie) Rose Lyle on May 28, 2021. Born on August 27th, 1935 to Christina and William Johnson. Agnes grew up on a farm in Parr View, SK as the youngest of 11 children.
She had a great love of animals, especially her horses and even raised an orphaned fawn with her sister Alice. She often said, “If a person doesn’t like animals there’s something wrong with them!”
Many people in Dryden would remember her as the cute little lady in the shoe department at the old Stylerite and Cadarios store. She made many lasting friendships with the special ladies who worked there.
Agnes was a sweet and gentle soul who was loved by everyone she met. The amazing aroma of fresh baked buns, bread, pies and goodies filled her home where you would be welcomed with the warmest greeting. Not only was Agnes an amazing cook but she had some very impressive sewing skills! Her grandchildren would often say, “My Grandma can sew anything!”
Wonderful memories were made while hosting family and friends for special gatherings, potlucks, and toboggan parties. Through the years Agnes enjoyed many camping adventures and was always delighted when her road trips could include visiting her family.
Agnes and Jim had a great love and talent for Square Dancing. They spent many wonderful years dancing their way across Canada and into the United States creating lifelong friendships along the way.
Agnes and Jim were happily married for 65 years, which created a loving legacy for their family!
Jim was dedicated to loving and supporting Agnes especially in the last few years when she bravely endured some very challenging health struggles.
Agnes’s greatest love and first priority was her family. Her beautiful grandchildren and great grandchildren were the highlight of her day; they were always greeted with hugs and kisses.
Agnes is survived by her loving husband Jim, son Jim (Patty), daughters Lori Jacklin (Lester), Cindy Bauer (Keith) , Tracy Ernewein (Terry), grandchildren Christin Elawny, Pam Lyle (Jamie), Cassie Gosselin (Cal), James Lyle, Mark Jacklin, Ashley Jacklin (Clark), Sam Bauer (Carl), Keesha Bauer, Taya and Tyson Ernewein, great grandchildren Zachary and Zara Elawny, Maddoc Bernard, Jayden and Madalyn Patterson, Blake Gosselin, Jace and Isaac Astren. Sister Alice Johnson, sister-in-law Nell Johnson and a large extended family including numerous nieces and nephews.

A special thank you goes out to the wonderful nurses at DRHC for their very kind and loving care during Mom’s recent 2 week stay. It warmed our hearts to know she was one of their favorites. Also a big thank you to Doctors Cortens and Bester for their special care over the years.
A Graveside Service will be held at a later date.
