A forest fire that forced the shutdown of the Eacom Sawmill in Ear Falls Friday is now being held by Ministry of Natural Resources and Forestry fire crews.
It hasn’t grown in size and is listed at 5.1 hectares.
That’s due in part to an aggressive waterbomber attack.
Ministry officials now say the blaze is a separate incident from a previous fire that was fully extinguished in an area nearby on May 26.
There was one new fire in the region Saturday.
It’s a small but not under control blaze about 3 kilometres northwest of Redditt.
There are 13 active fires in the northwest and only one is considered not under control.
