The Northwestern Health Unit is reporting one new case of COVID-19 within their catchment area Friday morning.
That new case, which comes from the Kenora health hub, is part of the 18 active cases they are currently monitoring. That number is down from the 21 active cases reported by the NWHU on Thursday.
13 of the active cases from the Kenora hub, four from the Sioux Lookout area and one from the Atikokan region.
The ten new cases of the novel coronavirus reported between Monday (May 24th) and Friday (May 28th) are the lowest recorded over a five-day work week since at least the beginning of March.
A total of 49,460 doses of vaccine have been administered to date within the Northwestern Health Unit’s catchment area.
The Thunder Bay District Health Unit recorded an uptick in new positives with 18 today.
That brings the active case count to 33.
Ontario recorded 1,273 new cases and 14 COVID-related deaths.
